About Robin

I’m not one of those girls who always wanted to be a writer, even though I’ve always enjoyed it. So when I got a job after college  writing for a local production company, I was happy. While there I wrote commercials, infomercials, 1/2 hour cable television programs, and corporate videos (mostly about medical stuff). Then I had kids and while  home with them, I tried writing a screenplay and picture books. Nothing came of that, but I still found myself itching to write so I turned to freelance writing. I finally realized this writing thing was my undeniable passion when I received an unexpected compliment from a co-worker a few years ago. Her magic words triggered something inside me that sparked the dream I think I’d always had, but was never quite ready to follow. Until now.

So how did I get to now?…I was born and raised in Southern California, and I’ve never left. I blame it on the weather and the beach. I couldn’t imagine living far from the sand and surf. It’s my favorite place to be. Growing up, I wanted to be a professional tennis player or a marine biologist. Tennis took a major detour when I met a boy who taught me love was much better off the court. (I ended up marrying him!) And college at UC San Diego was the perfect place to study marine biology…if only it didn’t mean math and chemistry too. So I settled for a minor in biology and a major in communications.

Fast forward many years and I’m writing freelance for a website. I loved what I was writing – short stories about brides and getting married. Another writer read my stuff and said to me, “Have you ever written a romance? Because if not, you should.” A little bell went off in my head and I knew at that moment that’s exactly what I should do!

One trip to the bookstore and I was hooked on romance! (Being a mystery book lover all my life, I hadn’t read any romance.) Now, I can’t imagine not living near the beach AND not writing fiction. Thanks to the amazing support of my hubby, I get to do both.
