I have this book. It’s titled 101 Things To Do Before You Die by Richard Horne. Some of the things on his list that I want to do are sky dive, complete a coast to coast road trip across America, go up in a hot air balloon, throw a dart into a map and travel to where it lands, shout ‘drinks are on me!’ in a pub or bar and (maybe) run a marathon. (I say that every year the weekend of the LA Marathon.)

There’s a few other things I’d like to check off the list too, but I can’t mention them here. ;D Two more that I want to bring special attention to, though?

Invent a Word That Makes it into the Dictionary. How cool would that be? After careful deliberation, I’ve come up with… nothing. But I’m thinking about it

Write a Bestseller. That’s number one on his list. I don’t know if my book(s) will ever be bestsellers, but a girl can dream, right? I’d actually like to change this to Write a Book, because as any writer will tell you, that’s all sorts of awesome all by itself. I’m still pinching myself that my first book will be coming out this spring. Updates soon.

What’s on your list?

hugs,
Robin

  1. Oh, I love the idea of a coast-to-coast road trip! A friend and I did a Southern road trip three years ago (Nashville, Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Charlotte, and Charlottesville) and it will always rank up high on my list of favorite vacations! :)

Also: so true about writing a book. It’s easy to get caught up in wanting to get to the next step, but I think it’s really important that we take a breather sometimes and reflect on what we’ve already accomplished. Writing a book is beyond awesome!!

  2. Love your list! Some great ideas there. My favorite, though, is the one about inventing a word that makes it into the dictionary. How cool would that be?!? Of course, you could aim for an Urban Dictionary entry, just to get started. Those are fun.

  3. Ooooh, how cool it would be to invent a word! My son is much better at coming up with great combinations than I am, so maybe he’ll actually succeed in doing that. Me? I’d love to take that coast-to-coast road trip :).

Hey Caryn ~ I think we need to put our heads together and come up with a cool word!

Hi Marilyn ~ It’s a date! I could so spend hours and hours and hours with you in a car sight-seeing! :)
