Thanks to blogging

Posted November 26th, 2008 by Robin Bielman

…I’ve made some awesome friends! When I started this site, I truly had no idea how deeply affected I’d be by blogging with other writers and getting to know them through the great big Internet world. Somehow, and I thank my lucky stars, I’ve been blessed with blogging friends that make me laugh, teach me new things, add encouragement on days when I need it most, and offer camaraderie unmatched.

So when my blogging pal, Kath chose me as one of her favorite blogs, well, it got me right in the heart. (I’m kind of a sentimental girl. The kind that gives mushy cards rather than funny ones - although according to Kath, I’m pretty funny, so maybe I should go for the humorous b-day cards and such more often.)

Anyway, Kath was awarded the “I Love Your Blog” distinction and it was passed along to me. BTW - Kath’s blog rocks! Whether she’s rocking the vote, dishing on Dexter, or posting eloquent thoughts on the publishing world and a writer’s journey, she always inspires me. Her blog is thoughtful and intelligent. Her words heartfelt.

As a recipient of this award, I need to pass it on to 7 other blogs that I love. I wish I could name everyone’s blog that I visit, but I’ve got to stick to the rules. So here goes…

Caryn Caldwell
Caryn’s was one of the very first blogs I started visiting on a regular basis. Her posts always bring a smile to my face. She is funny, insightful, and very good at posting topics that appeal to everyone on some level. She’s also an incredible photographer, and just launched a website and whole new look that is gorgeous!

Jax Cassidy Jax is truly one of the nicest people in the writing world! She’s got a gazillion things going on at once and still makes time for her friends. Her blog is visually the most beautiful one out there. Her posts give great insight into who she is and how she feels about the publishing industry, and she just landed one heck of an agent!

Kate Willoughby Kate writes erotic romance, but she talks about a great deal more than that on her blog. Her posts are usually short (so you’ve got no excuse not to check it out) and offer something fun or educational. She discusses art, asks entertaining questions, and every Thursday she does a Thursday 3 meme that’s always of great enjoyment. She makes me think about cool stuff.

Kristi I don’t know how Kristi does it. She works, has two small children, and writes. I’m in awe of her. Her blog is honest, informative, and makes me feel like the feelings I have are the same feelings of others who are fairly new to the romance writing world.

Lainey Bancroft Sweet and spicy Lainey is my favorite Canadian! Her blog posts are full of humor and wit and she’ll be the first one to make fun of herself, which says a lot about a person. I like to think we were separated at birth (her birthday is only one day before mine) because so much of what she says, I totally feel the same way.

Marilyn Brant Marilyn (whose debut novel will be dropping next year) gives great introductions to other authors on her blog. She also writes posts that give us a glimpse into her life and leave us wanting more. Food, one of my favorite things, is often a topic of discussion, and from recipes, to richly detailed descriptions of culinary delights, Marilyn delivers on making my mouth water.

Pam Pam is sharp as a whip and always has something interesting to say. She makes me laugh. She makes me want to rent and watch again all the seasons of Buffy. She simply is someone great to know and she is the biggest and best cheerleader to have on your side.

So there you have it! My list of seven. Thank you to everyone who visits this little blog of mine, I appreciate it more than words can say, and if I didn’t mention you, it’s not because I don’t love you. I do!

Happy Thanksgiving! Best wishes for a great turkey day and terrific weekend!

Oh, dang…now I’m getting all misty right before I need to check the turkey. Thanks for thinking of me Robin–if they had a “Best Cheerleader to Have in Your Corner (Who’s Also Dating Daniel Craig)” you’d have that hands down!

But, in the meantime, you’re going to have to settle for the “Super-Fabulous Award” because you are!

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!
(And half the time I spell Brant with a ‘d’, so don’t feel bad! We’ll call it a West Coast thing!)

  11. Marilyn Brant

Robin and Pam~LOL about the spelling thing!! Hey, I’m just happy to be nominated here…you two West Coasters can call me whatever you want!
P.S. Hope that stuffing was good today, Robin!

  12. Robin

Aww, thanks, Pam! I’m supposed to be giving you all the accolades here, so knock it off, would you? And I love the West Coasters label - I feel much better now! Especially being in the same company as you!

Marilyn, you better watch out! I can call you whatever I want? And the stuffing was delish!

  13. Caryn Caldwell
